Welcome Message from MVROP Superintendent

Greetings,

I am excited to join the Mission Valley ROP family as its new Superintendent. I have great respect for Mission Valley ROP’s strong roots, spanning over forty years within the Tri-City community, and its demonstrated success providing quality Career Technical Education (CTE) to adult and high school students alike.

Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with the staff of Mission Valley ROP and can attest to their abundant skills, dedication, and passion toward serving students. All classified and management staff have been busy throughout the summer making plans for the upcoming school year. We are looking forward to the return of our talented instructors, who are experienced in a variety of industries and are credentialed by the State of California.

Throughout the last few school years education funding has suffered repeated funding restrictions from not only our state legislators, but on a federal level as well. Although times have been uncertain pertaining to funding, Mission Valley ROP has remained committed towards serving our students with robust, rigorous and relevant hands-on experience in nine career pathways. By focusing on what we can control- expanding our business and industry education partners, constantly seeking new and innovative ways to infuse our classrooms with unique and effective instruction, and serving the community to the best of our abilities- we cannot lose!

I welcome our local business community and members of industry to participate in the Career Technical Education dialogue to help ensure that we follow only the most up-to-date and pertinent information regarding market projections for career trends. This can be done in a multitude of ways including: joining an advisory committee, partnering on various grants and career pathway projects, donating funds or key supplies for programs, being a speaker in our classrooms, and volunteering your company as a potential internship site to name a few!

Again, I am looking forward to working with everyone to continue the rich Mission Valley ROP tradition of arming our students with skills and knowledge that will serve them for a lifetime of success through the value of Career Technical Education.
