| (Prerequisite - Wood 1) Furniture styles and cultures are depicted through individual projects, and students learn how the finished wood product reflects the values and needs of the culture. Course content includes the history of cabinetry, furniture and wood sculpture, the art of furniture design, the use of woodworking tools and machines, and the role of culture and values upon the art form. The course will enable students to enrich and enhance the contours, surfaces, strength, fitness, harmony, and proportion of parts in woodworking projects. Creativity of design is emphasized throughout the course. This course receives UC Credit! |
