With a focus on personal computer hardware and operating systems, this course helps students prepare for the IC3 Certification and A+ exams. The course uses a combination of lectures, discussions, and hands-on laboratories to develop skills with the identification, installation, configuration, and trouble shooting of field replaceable components. The goal of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the hardware and multiple operating systems commonly found in the Information Technology field today. Instruction includes how hardware interacts with operating systems and basic functions and design of file systems found in Windows operating systems. Learn how operating systems interface with input, output, and storage devices. Students will set up network resources through the multiple versions of software. The class includes projects that provide real experience in the support of multiple operating systems. This course receives math credit.
