(This is a follow-up course to the curriculum in Computer Service Technology 1.) Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and increased hands-on labs, Computer Technology 2 will aid students in developing skills with the identification, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of field replaceable components. The course goal is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the hardware and multiple operating systems commonly found in the Information Technology field today. A broad range of desktop support techniques, troubleshooting skills and basic networking components are covered. Students will learn advanced operating system functions and interfaces with input, output, and storage devices. An emphasis is on providing students with basic skills to embark on a successful career in the field of information technology. This course receives math credit.
