Forensic Science is a fast-paced, rigorous, multi-disciplinary, college level course integrating concepts and state standards from Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth Sciences. Topics covered include crime scene analysis, physical/chemical analysis, microscopy, chromatography, hair/fiber/glass analysis, fingerprint comparison, comparative analysis, document analysis, firearms, drugs/toxicology, entomology, anthropology, blood (serology) and DNA analysis. Guest speakers from a wide range of fields add to the class by providing real applications in the field of forensic science. (Students may enroll in a second year for more advanced instruction. ) UC “D” credit pending.
