| This course prepares students for entry-level positions in the automotive technology industry. Instruction includes tool usage, understanding technical manuals and diagnosing and repairing basic automotive systems. The course is certified by NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) and AYES (Automotive Youth Educational System). An emphasis of the course is on brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, and engine performance. Students successfully completing the first year may enroll in a second year for more advanced opportunities and industry certification. (Students are required to purchase shop overalls.) | |||
