Auto Technology 1 & 2 (TITA/TITE)

General auto repair, brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, engine performance.  Students receive hands on experience in auto shop operations, tool usage, safety procedures, equipment operation and customer service.

Auto Technology/Basic Car Care (TJLA)

This course provides pre-entry level training in automotive service/maintenance and is designed to be the first course for students entering transportation technology career pathways. 

Beginning/Advanced Video Production- Electronic Media Production (EMP) (TAMA/TAME)
Two year course sequence in which students gain an understanding and practical experience in the creation of video productions using EFP (electronics field production), and television studio techniques  Interested students may also create a video project to enter in competition during the school year.

CAD/Industrial Drafting (TIKB)
Students are provided with the technical knowledge and skills required for entry-level jobs in mechanical, electronic drafting, and other computer-aided design drafting. Computer-aided design drafting is taught using AutoCAD software.

Computer Aided Design (TIKA)
This course trains students in the fundamentals of mechanical design drafting techniques. Students will be introduced to AutoCAD software and its applications including basic 3D wire frame drawing.

Computer Animation (TANA)

Students learn the creative process for producing two-dimensional digital animations.  Students write short stories, draw sketches and storyboards; develop original characters, backgrounds and objects on two-dimensional software, to finally produce short animations.

Computer Graphics Design (TAGA)

Create newsletters, articles, mailers, posters.  Adobe InDesign; Illustrator, Photoshop; Flash, retouch photographs, create original print, web, animation, video; portraits, posters; large-image plotters, printers, and cards.

Culinary Arts/Basic Foods 1 & 2 (TIYA /TIYE)
Competency-based course geared to California Restaurant Association and American Culinary Federation accreditation to prepare students for entry level positions; Serve-Safe, basic culinary, knife skills, basic cooking techniques, meat classification, grilling, soups, appetizers and Hors d’oeuvres, Garde-Manager skills, pantry skills, soups, and plate presentation. Receives Mission College credit.

Digital Photography 1, 2 (TACAP/TACEP)

Adobe Photoshop; hands-on, digital photography essentials, lighting, set design, studio configuration, lighting, field issues, camera operation, software interfaces, color management.  UC “f” credit.

Forensic Science / Crime Scene Investigation (TPFA/TPFE)

Crime scene analysis, hair/fiber/glass analysis, fingerprint comparison, firearms, drugs/toxicology, entomology, blood, DNA analysis, physical/chemical analysis, microscopy, chromatography. 

Introduction to Engineering (TINB)

Hands-on instruction includes a “shake table” to analyze effects of earthquakes on structures, model bridges for load/stress testing, and more. Students will learn sketching, the design process, drafting, engineering math, applied physics, surveying, applied geometry, trigonometry, structural systems, electronic symbols, electronic schematics, and mechanical design.

Law Enforcement/Homeland Security (TPJA)

Students learn legal vocabulary, search and seizure, laws of arrest, judicial systems, specialized police practices and improvement in written and oral communication.  Explore careers within the criminal justice system. College credit at Ohlone.

Medical and Health Careers (THOA)
Exploration for career pathways in health, medicine, life sciences, and biotechnology; health care systems, health careers, medical terminology, medical ethics and law, human growth, development, nutrition, and infection control. 

Medical Occupations (THOB)
This course prepares students for entry-level employment in a variety of medical or health careers.  Instruction includes professional ethics, medical terminology, infection control, vital signs, basic anatomy and physiology, CPR and special procedures. Internship at hospitals, skilled nursing facilities. 

Nursing Assistant (THNB)
Medical terminology, CPR, first aid, personal patient care, food and nutrition, safety principles, infection control, body mechanics and vital signs.  Internship at hospitals, skilled nursing facilities. Qualified students sit for state certification.

Small Engine Repair (TIIA)

Instruction includes safety, engine types and identification, engine operation and maintenance, disassembly and inspection, engine reconditioning and assembly, fuel and ignition system assembly, and mechanical operation and testing.

Virtual Enterprise 1 & 2 (TMKA, TMKE)
Students conduct business transactions with other high school and college Virtual Enterprise companies from California, the United States and throughout the world.
