What education do you need to take Mission Valley ROP's Pharmacy Technician Course? = High School Diploma or GED. If your education was completed in another country, please refer to this website for evaluation services.

How much does it cost to take the class? = Total cost of the class paid to MVROP is $3,650.00. Total cost for the class, including books, lab coat, and license fees is around $4,000.

What types of payment methods do you accept? = Currently, we only accept checks or cash. Checks can be personal, cashier's, or money order.

When is payment due? = The first half payment is due early Aug. before class begins for $1825.00 and the second remaining, $1825.00, is due early Oct.

What is the refund policy? = Once a student registers and makes a payment, there are NO REFUNDS.

Do you offer financial aid? = Mission Valley ROP does not offer financial aid, but we are partnered with Ohlone College and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to offer assistance for those who qualify. Funding is limited and availability will be based on priority enrollment. Please complete and submit the interest form to be considered.

How do I know if I am eligible to take the class? = In the summer we offer 2 Info Sessions which will include a math and reading test. Both tests must be passed with a minimum score of 70%.

Can I study for the math and reading test? = Yes, you can review the math test through these resources. We do not have prep material for the reading test. It is basic reading comprehension.

English is my second language and I need help = MVROP is partnered with Fremont Adult School to offer a free prep class for those who qualify. Please see link for more info.

How long is the program? = The class is about 7 months long from Aug - March

Do I need to be able to pass a drug and background check? = Yes, this is not a requirement to take our class, but it is a requirement to obtain a Pharmacy license once our class is completed.

What is the minimum age requirement to take this class? = You must be 18 years old before the 1st day of class to be eligible.

Can I get college credit if I complete the class? = No, unfortunately, completing our Pharmacy Technician class will not give you college credit.

Are there evening or online-only classes? = No, there are no evening classes or online-only classes offered. There is only one class offered each year that meets in person 3 days per week and 1 day via Zoom M-Th.

Do you offer job placement after the program is completed? = As a current and alumni student, we always share job opportunities. The job application process is the responsibility of the student or individual. Our externship sites will often share their job openings with us. It is possible to obtain employment and be licensed by the time the program is completed.

Can I claim an educational tax credit? = Mission Valley ROP's course fees are considered registration fees and not tuition. Therefore, students are not able to claim it on their taxes for educational credits. 

I want to take the class. What do I do? = The first step is to add yourself to our interest list. You will receive an email confirming you are on our interest list and once Info Session Dates are available, you will be invited. Info Sessions take place in May and June.
