    About Mrs. Shepherd:

I am a former student of Mission Valley ROP.  I graduated from the Careers In Education course over 20 years ago, that I now currently teach. I have had the amazing opportunity to enrich, teach and mentor high school students to help them become productive compassionate members of our community.

My teaching style is a strong foundation based on respect, compassion and professionalism.  I value what all students have to offer and encourage students to take ownership over their education.  I believe that students should enjoy the learning process through many educational styles.  I incorporate guest speakers, projects, presentations, current relevant curriculum in all my courses.

My day is very busy; I teach on two campuses. I teach Careers In Education 1 & 2, Business & Professional Development, and Marketing Special Needs Education.  I truly enjoy being with my students.  I have an open door policy in all my classes. Just stop by and check us out in action.

I'm also a wife and mother of two young men.  I enjoy reading stories about people's life struggles and challenges.  I have three dogs who are like my children.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching.  I started in a home daycare center my junior year of high school.  I have taught in many different schools through the years.  I am always working on advancing my education through workshops, conferences, and upper level college courses.  I am a life-long learner and am very excited to see what the future has in store for me.
