testimonial

biomed success story

"The Honors Medical Intervention and Biomedical Innovation Program opened numerous new pathways for me especially when it came to applying to research labs. The hands-on exposure to various molecular biology techniques, such as pipetting, running gels, etc., came up as a topic of interest during my interviews and helped my application stand out. It allowed me to get accepted into a cancer lab and a psychiatry lab as an incoming freshman majoring in Neurobiology at UCSD. The skills I earned from this class are irreplaceable, along with the career opportunities of shadowing an orthopedic surgeon, connecting with professionals from various fields (healthcare, biotech, research, etc.), and learning about all the possibilities a degree in Biology has to offer!
