MVROP School Closure For Friday, November 16

November 15, 2018

FREMONT, CA- The difficult decision to close all twenty-one schools in Alameda County on Friday, November 16, 2018 was collectively made today. This closure will include the Mission Valley ROP (MVROP) Center Campus and its Main Office. Mission Valley ROP classes will resume following Thanksgiving Break on Monday, November 26, 2018. This closure is in response to the ongoing catastrophic effects of the Northern California wildfires and continued unhealthy air quality conditions.

The closure announcement was made to ensure the safety and well-being of all Mission Valley ROP students and staff. The ongoing poor air quality levels experienced throughout this week have hindered the ability to teach some of the CTE programming offered at the MVROP Center Campus due to limiting, and eventual cancellation, of outside activities.

Superintendent Hanson shares, “This is a decision that was not made lightly as this affects many people. In the end, we thank everyone for their patience and diligence in supporting CTE as we work to protect the health and safety of our students. This has been a unique and challenging situation to navigate.”

Mission Valley ROP encourages everyone to enjoy their time with loved ones this Thanksgiving holiday and to keep thoughts and well-wishes for those who have lost so much from the tragic Northern California fires.
