MVROP Pharmacy Technician Program Receives PTCB Education/Training Recognition

April 1, 2019

FREMONT, CA- The Mission Valley ROP (MVROP) Pharmacy Technician program is celebrating its new designation as a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Recognized Education/Training Program. This new notification for the program is welcome news for all Pharmacy Technician students who complete the MVROP program as they now will meet PTCB’s 2020 Education/Training eligibility requirements for CPhT Certification due to this newly recognized status.

Students who complete a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program will be eligible to apply for and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) starting in 2020. If the student passes the PTCE and meets all other PTCB certification requirements, they can become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). In order for the MVROP Pharmacy Technician program to be granted this new designation as a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program, MVROP was required to attest their curriculum meets specified knowledge requirements.

Superintendent Hanson is especially pleased with MVROP’s on-going ability to focus on preparing students for employment and college through industry standard tools, training, and experience. It is the reason MVROP's Pharmacy Technician course now boasts its new designation. He elaborated about the process stating, “To comply with new regulations taking effect in 2020, we applied to be recognized by PTCB, and were approved. Our completing students are now eligible to pursue their goals and take the PTCE. This is a notable program achievement we are happy to share and congratulate Ms. Ha, MVROP Pharmacy Technician Instructor, for her hard work and dedication ensuring the program’s success.”
